Look Up Child

Most often I listen to music as I paint. Sometimes I listen to podcasts and sometimes I like silence so I might ponder. Painting gives me time to connect to heaven and keep my anxiety in check. I often wonder as I paint certain paintings if someone would purchase the painting and the reasons why. What draws them to the painting and what does it mean to them?
This painting began when I listened to the song, Look Up Child by Lauren Daigle. If you haven't heard the song, look her up! Over the last couple years her songs and her voice have become my go to music when I'm needing my thoughts to stay on heavenly things. As I listened to this song the image of a child throwing back their arms, reaching to God, and opening their hearts for truths to be taught. The light (which is colorful) is pouring down upon the child with great abundance. That is how I want to be. I want to be like a child; meek, teachable, believing, and open to truths of all kinds. That is how we are asked to be.

Trying to catch up!

Remembering and making the time to post to all my sight/social media pages isn't top on my list of fun things. I'd sure love to just spend my time with family and paint. And paint some more. But, I must share! Right! Plus it wouldn't help my goal any if I didn't. So, I'm basically going to throw-up all over this page with pics of all my artwork I haven't yet posted. It might take more than one post. We'll see. I may also have shared some of these on here, but I'm too lazy to go check :)
Also, if you can't find some of these on my Etsy page (my etsy page is ChristineWalterArt) it's because I have them displayed and for sale in other places. Email me if you have questions! qrissyw@gmail.com

Keep on the sunny side

There are dark days. There are days in an artists journey when things don't go as they hope.
Even as I write this I struggle with giving up. A lot of what I feared with opening my art to the world is happening and it's difficult to want to keep going.
BUT, I look at my works of art and think of what they represent. They all have a meaning to me. Like the one below is a reminder of the Lord's covenant with Noah, that it is a promise of good days, of peace.
So I will keep going. I will try to keep on the sunny side.
